The co-founder of Manus AI walked through “Manus,” a general-purpose AI agent that doesn’t just answer questions—it plans tasks and completes them end-to-end using its own cloud computer (full browser, filesystem, scheduler). Inspired by coding copilots, Manus acts like a digital intern: it can browse, edit files/Slides, run long multi-step workflows, fan out “wide research” across hundreds of targets in parallel, and even work from forwarded emails via a personal Manus address. Launched in March, it’s grown fast as an “action engine” aimed at everyday users, with an agentic loop and long memory (“event string”) to turn plain-language requests into finished work.
